I See What You Did There

Oh Lord, you are wonderful, more wonderful than my little mind and heart can imagine.  How I love You!  How I love You!

Today's account of God's Goodness:

1.  I woke up this morning to read a devotional from Joseph Prince based on 2 Kings 6:

2 Kings 6

Amplified Bible (AMP)
The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, Look now, the place where we live before you is too small for us.
Let us go to the Jordan, and each man get there a [house] beam; and let us make us a place there where we may dwell. And he answered, Go.
One said, Be pleased to go with your servants. He answered, I will go.
So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees.
But as one was felling his beam, the axhead fell into the water; and he cried, Alas, my master, for it was borrowed!
The man of God said, Where did it fall? When shown the place, Elisha cut off a stick and threw it in there, and the iron floated.
He said, Pick it up. And he put out his hand and took it.

Supernatural Cancellation Of Debt
Elisha’s prophets-in-training were cutting down trees near the Jordan River to use the wood to build a larger place to meet. But as one of them was chopping away, his iron ax head fell into the water and he cried, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed” (2 Kings 6:5). The man was upset because he was now in debt—he owed someone an ax head.
What did Elisha do? He threw a stick into the spot where the ax head had fallen, and the ax head floated up. Then, Elisha told the man who had lost the ax head to pick it up. You could say that this was a supernatural cancellation of debt!
My friend, if you have a debt today, know that God is interested in getting you out of it. Even if it was a result of your foolishness, God doesn't hold it against you. In the story, Elisha didn’t ask whose fault it was or why the person was so careless. He was only interested in solving the problem. Many of the sins we commit are out of our own folly. Yet, God cancelled our debt of sin because Jesus paid the debt for us at Calvary. With that debt gone, we can freely receive all that God has for us.
Beloved, the stick that Elisha threw into the water speaks of the cross. So because of the cross of Jesus, today, you can have your debts supernaturally cancelled. As you bring your situation before the Lord, see the provision He made for you at the cross—God will give you the wisdom and the means to clear every debt! ~~Joseph Prince

2. The sun was out and shining all day. It was beautiful as it shimmered on the icy snow!

3. We went to Salvation Army. They have a tag color that is 50% off all week. On Saturdays the tag special is 69 cents. We were able to get the girls and me some sweaters, a dress and a few long sleeve t shirts. Also Pat found some very nice work boots have steel toes for 69 cents. We bought 6 bags of clothes and the boots for only $16.82.

God is my encourager, my creator and my provider.

Lord, Help me!

Oh Lord, why do I have such a hard time trusting YOU?  Men have failed me but you, oh LORD, have been my strong tower, my place of refuge...or have you?  Yes, it's true you have always been with me but have I truly made you my strong tower?  Or my place of refuge?  Is it You that I run to when I'm afraid or am I usually running away from you?

Lord, help me.  Help me place my total confidence in You... and you ALONE.  Why does my heart fail me when all I want is to find rest in Your arms?  Shouldn't it be enough that you took care of us when my husband was out of work?  Can't I look back on my life and see Your hand in it?  Isn't that enough for me?  No, for some reason it is not enough.  There is a part of my heart that STILL WON'T TRUST YOU!

I want to sing "You're All I Need"  and MEAN IT!  I want to 100% trust you LORD!  Please, please, please help me!  I'm leaning on You but not far enough.  I want to lean on you with ALL my weight...with ALL my BEING!

I don't want to trust in a job or paycheck or bank account for my provision anymore.  YOU are my PROVIDER, MY COMFORT, MY DELIVERER!  If you take care of the birds who do not work or garden to get their food, why wouldn't you take care of me!  Lord, forgive me for believing that I am worth less than the birds.

I say I know you love me, but again, there's a part of my heart that still doubts.  There's a part of me who would rather believe the lies I was told that to believe You Father.  My heart is stubborn and holds on to the lies.  Lies that I am worthless and won't amount to anything.  Lies that I am not worthy of love.  Lies that I am ugly.  I lay these lies and all the other lies I've been told at Your feet.  I give my brokenness to You.

Lord, I'm tired.  All I want to do is curl up in Your arms and rest.  I want to rest...please help me rest.
